Please remember to join us at Larry and Lise's house for a brainstorming session on how to move SEA forward in 2020.  Please come with your ideas on what issues and actions you would like SEA to tackle in the coming months.  Beth Cruise has stepped down as chair of SEA after giving it her energy for the last two years.  Please bring a potluck item to share.

2. ACTION ALERT: Street Mobilization for Wet'suwet'en Date TBD


This action is being planned as a DAY-AFTER response of collective outrage, pushback and solidarity in the downtown streets if another RCMP invasion happens on unceded Wet'suwet'en territory and people are being forcibly removed from their land during enforcement of the court injunction

5. ṮEṮÁĆES Climate Action Project

To all residents interested in Climate Action and working with local Indigenous communities, 
  The EÁĆES Climate Action Project is offering three one-week-long courses on the Gulf Islands this February and March. Braiding Climate Science with Indigenous knowledge these immersive education experiences aim to educate and spurn projects for climate action throughout EÁĆES (The Gulf Islands or Relatives of the deep in SENĆOŦEN). 6. Rising Tides: Climate Justice & Indigenous Food Security Conference

Thursday, January 23-24, 2020

Rising Tides brings together Indigenous and non-Indigenous leaders, scholars, activists and community members to create an interactive and dynamic learning experience around climate change and food security. By participating in this event you will have a clearer sense of what food security and climate justice looks like in Metulia (aka Victoria) and how we’re all impacted by changes to land, water and animal relationships. We are Looking forward to having you join us for this important gathering and to plan out ways we can take action together.

7. Heading for Extinction & What to Do about it
