Learn more about the bioremediation process and how it can help protect and restore the Shawnigan Lake watershed from toxicity relating to a controversial contaminated soil facility at its headwaters.

Carolyn Dowell is a Shawnigan Lake resident and founder of the Shawnigan Bio Remediation Society. A certified herbologist, permaculturist and organic master gardener, she will present her fascinating research on how bioremediation works and how it can be applied in the Shawnigan context, particularly through the use of plants and mushrooms to contain toxins.

Cowichan Valley regional district director Sonia Furstenau will also provide an update on legal and advocacy issues relating to the Shawnigan Watershed movement.

All are welcome for this free event!
