2. Attend the Press Conference outside City Hall on Thursday October 13 @ 6:00 pm
(UVic History Professor Dr. Larry Hannant will be addressing the crowd)
3. Attend the meeting and the motion heard by Council in Chambers 6:30 pm

4. Email and Inform City Council why Leonard Peltier is a local issue,
(Interesting note: He was adopted into Vancouver Island's Kwagiulth Nation in 1976.
Federal Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould's Grandmother adopted him!
This was her valiant attempt to prevent Leonard's extradition while imprisoned in Burnaby
on false pretenses).

The European Parliament demands Leonard's freedom, as does Pamela Anderson from Ladysmith, Nelson Mandela, The Dalai Lama, Bishop Tutu and locally Dr. Logan McMenamie and Gordon. Please urge Victoria Council to join them,

Leonard Peltier has been jailed since the 1970's for his role protecting indigenous territory in the face of exploitative mineral interests. Four decades later, the Standing Rock Sioux Nation is spearheading the same fight, challenging the Dakota Access pipeline through indigenous lands.
