Time to take Action!
Forward Share Tweet +1 ShareEnvironmental and animal welfare organizations, citizen advocates, biologists/scientists, and veterinarians have been ringing the alarm on rodenticides for decades, demanding safe, humane solutions to pest control. In response to the growing awareness of rodenticide-abundance in the ecosystem, the pain and suffering these products inflict on animals, and the availability of better solutions, municipalities across B.C. have prohibited the use of rodenticides on city-owned properties and have formally demanded that the provincial government take action. However, the B.C. Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy has not addressed these demands, and has further failed to uphold its obligations to protect its citizens and the environment from pest control products by permitting their continued use.

Fairy Creek Rainforest, near Port Renfrew not far from Avatar grove, is the last intact valley with old growth trees outside of a park, on Southern Vancouver Island,
These pockets are of urgent importance for species that can only survive in old-growth forests. They are also known to sequester carbon more efficiently than almost any other types of forest on earth.
Rainforest Flying Squad has prevented forest company Teal Jones from logging in this watershed by having blockades for the last seven months protecting access to this area. Rainforest Flying Squad went to court on March 4th to fight an injunction hearing to remove their blockades preventing logging in this watershed. They were very fortunate to receive a three week extension so that they can better prepare for the injunction hearing. The new hearing dates are March 25-26 in BC Supreme Court.
Once the injunction has been granted it will take many many people on the ground to stop the logging in this area. This fight is the war of the woo of 2021. If you would consider coming to camp for a day trip or longer please sign up using the link below. Your presence is necessary to win this battle!
